Correct Identification of the Reel Size is a critical first step.
Reel Size is expressed in terms of: (A) Flange Diameter X (B) Traverse (Drum Length) X (C) Drum Diameter;
Plywood flanges are typically 5/8", 3/4" and meant for lighter applications. They feature several options for drum configuration. Wood staves or card board tubes (fiber core), depending on product application.
Nailed Wood Flanges
Nailed wood flanges are manufactured of 2 plys of lumber, in flange widths of 1.5”, 2.0”, 2.5”, 3.0”, and thicker sizes for the most demanding applications.
Wood Drum Staves
QRS drum staves are milled for a consistent drum surface, which lessens the possibility of product damage when spooled onto the reel. If your staves aren’t milled to pattern then you’re risking the quality of your product by crimping, bending or damaging the insulation.
Multi compartment reels are custom built to customer specifications for efficient installation of multiple wire runs from a single reel or segregation of harness and umbilical attachments.
